The Order of the Aztec Eagle is the highest decoration that can be given by Mexican authorities to a foreigner. It was first awarded in 1933 as recognition for the contribution of foreigners to the development of Mexico. It can only be approved by the President, but it is given by the Foreign Minister. Usually, it is given to presidents, kings or officials of other countries that express their help for the Mexican people in various ways.
